　　武汉警官职业学院是经湖北省人民政府批准、教育部备案的省属全日制普通高等院校，是全国政法干警招录培养体制改革试点院校、湖北省教育援疆对口培训院校、司法部司法信息化建设重点院校、湖北省高校党建工作试点院校。 武汉警官职业学院创建于1981年、前身为湖北省劳改干部学校，先后更名为湖北省劳改工作学校、湖北省警官学校等，2002年经湖北省人民政府批准并报中国教育部备案设置武汉警官职业学院，2003年湖北省司法学校、湖北省司法干部学校、湖北法制报社、湖北省监狱管理局党校整体并入武汉警官职业学院，在武汉警官职业学院设立了湖北省司法厅培训中心，2009年经湖北省机构编制委员会办公室批准，湖北省司法厅培训中心更名为湖北省司法警官训练总队，2015年湖北省机构编制委员会办公室明确武汉警官职业学院与湖北省司法警官训练总队成为一体的办学实体。[1]据学校官网，校园占地总面积400余亩，建筑面积16万多平方米，开设8个系部，22个专业，有教师260人，有全日制在校学生7000多人。
