　　The American University of Central Asia was developed on the basis of the Kyrgyz-American School (KAS) within the Kyrgyz State National University. In 1997, by a decree of the President of Kyrgyzstan, KAS became the American University in Kyrgyzstan. In 2002, due to the University’s expanded mission and future vision, the Board of Trustees changed the name to reflect the University’s regional significance: the American University of Central Asia. AUCA is the first university in Central Asia to offer US accredited degrees in liberal arts programs through a partnership with Bard College in the United States.?

　　Bilkent University (in Turkish, Bilkent üniversitesi) is the first non-profit private university in Turkey founded by Prof. ?hsan Do?ramac? in 1984. The name Bilkent is an abbreviation of bilim kenti: Turkish for "city of science". It has constantly ranked among the top Turkish universities since its establishment.

　　Bilkent University occupies three campuses. They are located about 12 km west of the center of Ankara, and cover a total area of more than 300 hectares. Bilkent University Library houses a large collection of books with annual acquisitions valued at over 3 million U.S. dollars.

　　Bilkent University ranked 16th in the?QS Emerging Europe and Central Asia Rankings?(2020) and 100th in the?Times Higher Education Asia University Rankings?(2020). Bilkent has also been named as one of the Turkey’s highest-ranked university in the?QS Graduate Employability Rankings?(2018).
